The beautiful Bhrigu Lake is known for its historical and holy importance in the state of Himachal Pradesh. According to the legends, Hundreds of years ago Rishi Bhrig used to meditate and indulge in religious rituals on the bank of the pious lake of Bhrigu. The folklore states that the lake is blessed with the Gods of Kullu valley taking a dip in the Bhrigu. This attracts many devotees who seek the Lake of Bhrigu to get blessings of the Deities. Bhrigu Lake is at a distance of 6 km from the picturesque village of Gulaba which in turn is about 22 km from the famous hill station of Manali.

How to Reach:
Manali being 22 km away from the base of the trek and a famous hill station, makes a perfect rendezvous point for the trek. First you need to reach Manali from your hometown and from there you can get a cab and reach Gulaba village.
By Flight
The nearest Airport to Manali is Bhuntar, which is approximately at a distance of 52 km from Manali. There are various operators that provide flight services to Bhuntar daily, especially from Delhi. From Bhuntar you can get a taxi for the onward journey which will cost you around 900 INR.
By Bus
Taking an overnight bus from Delhi is the most budget friendly option out there. As Manali and Delhi are well connected by road you don’t need to worry about the condition of the road. You can also fly to Chandigarh and then get a HRTC bus service to reach Manali. On the other hand, if you are coming from Delhi then head to Kashmiri Gate to board Volvo private buses or government buses. Most of the buses depart between 5 pm to 6 pm so plan your arrival at the bus stop accordingly.
Best Season to visit
The trek route of Bhrigu Lake remains operational from May through the month of October, so you can attempt the Bhrigu trek in any of the months. Although, many trekkers avoid going to Bhrigu Lake trek during monsoon season that is in the month of June to August. This is due to the weather hazards and the probability of natural calamities like landslides. If you are a fan of snow fall then plan your trek in the winter months, when the lake remains frozen and it is an experience in itself. If you wish to see the unfrozen lake then visiting in the late summer months is advisable as the lake remains frozen for most part of the year. The temperature ranges from 20 to 25 Degree Celsius during the summer months during daytime. However, the night still remains cold with a temperature of 5 to 7 degree Celsius. In winter the temperature can dip as low as -7 degree Celsius during night so pack accordingly to enjoy the trek to its fullest.

Bhrigu Lake trek is considered to be a moderate level trek on the scale of difficulty ranging from easy level treks to difficult level treks.
